Frequently Asked Questions

What equipment do you shoot with?

I primarily shoot with a Sony A7R5, Godox strobes, Aputure continuous lighting, and a variety of other equipment.

I also shoot Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) with professional video gear, including an ARRI Alex 35, Sony FX3, cinema lenses, and supporting gear.

Does your studio offer a restroom or a changing room?

It does! In fact, there’s a large restroom that doubles as a changing room. It also has a shower for messier, more creative shoots (e.g., paint, sprays, etc.).

Do you have a dog as a portrait mascot?

I’m so glad you asked! I do, indeed. His name is Jaker. And he’s the friendliest, laziest pup. And don’t worry; he loves people.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely. However, I do encourage you to keep it to one additional person (two counting you), as the studio can get cramped. Further guests can be coordinated, though.

What’s a typical shoot like?

I enjoy a highly collaborative, fun shoot. I do everything in my power to make everyone feel as welcome and at home as possible. I understand that being in front of the camera can be overwhelming (I feel it myself!), so I like to work with each person individually to create the most relaxed environment that can support the most creativity. I personally like to play music (client’s choice), joke, laugh, and, overall, have fun. But I’ll adjust to the client’s needs.

Prior to the shoot, I like to identify your goals. Then, leading up to the shoot, we can work together to arrange a moodboard, lookbook, or Pinterest references. When you arrive for the shoot, I like to take a quick 5-10m to chat; getting to know one another helps with the photographic process, but I genuinely love meeting people. Then, we’ll work together to get the best images possible. Once the shoot is complete, I like to wrap things up by explaining how I’ll deliver the images and what to look for.
